A charity bazaar raised more than £200 to pay for teachers in a developing country.
The fair at Sheppey Evangelical Church in Warden Bay Road Warden, raised £275 for the Countess of Huntingdon’s Connexion, a national charity which supports teachers in Sierra Leone, Africa.
About 200 people turned up and it was a “huge success” according to church pastor Peter Riddle who added: “There was a great turnout and as a teacher’s salary in Sierra Leone is about £25, you can imagine how far this money will go.”
