Barclays are calling for teams to ‘beat the banker’ at the annual Canterbury Big Charity Quiz this April.
The high-street bank are leading key partners of the annual wine and wisdom evening, and charities are set to greatly benefit from their involvement.
Sam Russell, manager of Barclays bank, Canterbury, said: “We have been supporting the quiz for a number of years now, and do so for two principal reasons. Firstly, it provides a fantastic team-building experience for my employees, but more importantly because it allows us to use our ‘Matched Fundraising’ abilities which double whatever money is raised for the good causes benefitting.”
He added: “We will be running the charity bar, and we also have a team taking part in the quiz, so if you fancy coming down and trying to beat the banker, secure your team today!”
Charities benefiting from the event are the Kentish Gazette’s charity of the year Pilgrims Hospice in East Kent, as well as the League of Friends at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, and child road safety initiatives.
Booking is now open for the quiz which takes place at the University of Kent’s sports hall on Friday, April 22.
Organised by the KM Charity Team, the quiz also features a raffle and individual prizes for entrants including the chance to win Eurostar tickets.
Dominic Comins, events manager at the charity, said: “Barclays’ money-match fundraising allows us to further support the good causes we work with. We hope that this anniversary event is our biggest one yet, and we can raise a record-breaking sum for these charitable organisations.”
Teams of eight are required to take part with tables priced at £65, but a £10 discount is available by applying the code CANT16 when booking at kmbigquiz.co.uk
Fellow key partners of the quiz include MHA McIntyre Hudson and Shepherd Neame.
