One lucky participant at the Maidstone heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz could be going home with a real beauty of a prize.
In the quiz’s Win in 10 game, a quiz-goer chosen by lottery will be given 10 seconds to answer a question, and if they do so correctly they will win a VIP meet-the-cast family ticket for this year’s Christmas panto at Maidstone’s Hazlitt Theatre.
The Hazlitt’s panto this year is Beauty and the Beast, with Hollyoaks, X Factor and Dancing on Ice star Jake Quickenden taking the lead as Danon.
In honour of 2019 being the Chinese Year of the Pig, the 1 in 10 contestant will be invited up to the stage to answer a pig-related question.
And any 1 in 10 wannabes concerned about losing their voice under the Big Quiz spotlight can rest assured that their answers will be ably relayed by the sound engineering experts at IMP Studio & Live.
IMP director and production technician Phil Wilson said: “We are proud to support all the Big Quiz events across Kent, and help the KM Charity Team raise money to continue the work that it does within schools across the country.”
He added: “Providing a PA system and sound engineer for events is typical of the work IMP does, but the Big Quiz events are pretty unique given their scale.
“We certainly don’t do any other events like it.”
The quiz takes place at Maidstone Leisure Centre on Friday November 8, with Kent Messenger charity of the year Royal British Legion Industries among the good causes set to benefit.
It is open to teams of up to eight people, with doors opening at 6.20pm for a 7pm start. The fun is estimated to finish at 10.30pm.
Besides IMP, the quiz is supported by Specsavers, Office Angels, Shepherd Neame, Barclays and Hornby.
The entry price is £65 per eight-person team, but there is a £10 discount when you book using the discount code KMNEWS19.
Also taking a share of the charity pot will be KM Charity Team services supporting child literacy and green travel, plus one charity chosen via prize draw.
