There are just a handful of days left until the KM Big Bike Ride but still plenty of time left for cyclists to confirm their participation.
Riders can either book in advance online, or register and pay at the venue on the day.
The event, which takes place on Sunday, April 28, provides the perfect opportunity to ride off any Easter excess, but en route sustenance will be available courtesy of the Southern Co-operative to ensure no rider hits the ‘wall’.
Event coordinator Hannah Hawksworth said: “I’m so grateful to the Southern Co-op for supporting all the riders by providing en route refreshments.
“The ride offers people the chance to raise much-needed money for their favourite good causes or to test their fitness and cycling abilities on a choice of 50K and 100K routes.
“But the most important thing is that people enjoy themselves and have a fun day out, so it’s essential that riders get the chance to top up their sugar and energy levels as they make their way around the route.
“And people can register for the ride right up until 10am on Sunday morning, so there’s still plenty of time to sign up.”
The event starts and finishes at Betteshanger Park near Deal. Besides the Southern Co-operative, it is also supported by key partner Vattenfall, Benenden Hospital Trust, SE Medical and Herberts Cycles, which will provide technical support to riders.
Any individual raising £200 or more for charity will go into a draw to win a pair of Eurostar tickets. Seventy per cent of sponsorship money will go to the participants’ chosen charities, with the rest helping to fund the KM Charity Team’s child road-safety work in Kent.
Participants will benefit from electronic chip timing, mid-ride refreshments, and a sportive photograph taken during the event.
The ride costs £30 per person, but there is a £5 discount when booking online with the code KMNews19. The discount is not available when paying in person at the venue.
