Bluebell walk through the heart of Kent

THE 18th annual Heart of Kent Hospice Bluebell walk will take place on Sunday, May 1.

The 8.5-mile walk is hoping to raise £50,000, which is its biggest ever target.

The family walk attracts around 1,300 walkers and last year raised £43,000.

The circular route starts from Harrietsham community centre between 9am and 11.30am and takes walkers through the picturesque North Downs as well as private bluebell woods, owned by Torry Hill Estate.

Fun activities for the day include a certificate for all dogs on the walk, a treasure hunt and goodie bags for children, and a free Ploughman’s lunch for all walkers, sponsored by the staff from Tesco, Grove Green.

Hospice fundraising manager, Jane Newman said: "Our target would be smashed this year if each walker raised just £50 each. The walk is one of the most important fundraising events on our calendar, helping to fund the Hospice’s essential care."

Sponsorship forms can be obtained directly from the hospice on 01622 790195. They can also be downloaded below.

Alternatively, walkers can turn up on the day.

The entry cost is £5 per adult and £2 per child under 16. If the sponsorship amount exceeds £50 entrance costs are waived.
