Kent brewer Shepherd Neame will again be rolling out its barrels for the KM Big Charity Quiz on Friday, June 21 – and there’s still time to book a team.
For the past 15 years the brewery has donated a fully stocked charity bar for each of the KM Charity Team four Big Quiz heats in Medway, Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury – helping to raise more than £30,000 for charity every year.
The Ashford heat of the Big Quiz takes place at the Ashford International Hotel.
Barclays bank will match every penny spent at the Spitfire bar, so every time someone buys a drink they will be making a double charitable donation.
Funds raised will benefit the Kentish Express newspaper’s charity of the year, the Stroke Association, along with KM Charity Team services supporting child literacy and road safety, plus one good cause chosen via prize draw.
Simon Dolby, CEO of the KM Charity Team, said: “Yet again, we are so, so grateful to Shepherd Neame for its generous support of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
“So many important good causes have benefitted from the money generated by the Spitfire Bar over the past 15 years, and that money has made a real difference to people’s lives.”
Other key partners of the event include Specsavers and law firm Hallett and Co. And Office Angels’ temps will act as runners on the evening, while Independent Music Productions will supply and operate the PA system.
There will be a raffle featuring Hornby collectables, and any organisation entering a minimum of three teams will be presented with a prize for their best-performing group.
One quizzer selected at random will have the chance to win two Eurostar tickets in the timed ‘Win in 10’ mini-game.
And the winning team will secure a place in the county final, where they’ll take on Kent’s brainiest quiz teams in a bid for the champions’ trophy.
