Brewery Shepherd Neame is once again donating the drinks for the charity bar at the KM Charity Team’s Big Quiz next month.
All the money raised from purchases at the Spitfire Bar will go to good causes including Kentish Gazette charity of the year Eva’s Angels and the Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends.
And Barclays Bank will match-fund the proceeds, meaning every time contestants buy any drinks they will be making a double charitable donation.
The Canterbury heat of the quiz takes place at the University of Kent’s Sports Centre on Friday April 26.
Moray Neame, communications executive at the brewery, said: “We have been sponsoring the KM Big Quiz for more than a decade, and are very proud to support such a popular charity fundraising event in our heartland.”
Quiz organiser Dominic Comins said: “We are so, so grateful to Shepherd Neame, who have supported the quiz for 15 years now, helping us to raise more than £30,000 for charity each year.
“It’s great to have them back in 2019, and we hope as many people as possible join us again for what is always a great night.
“Avoid disappointment by booking your team’s table now.”
The quiz is open to teams of up to eight people, with doors opening at 6.20pm for a 7pm start.
Each team will get a free bottle of wine, and contestants will be treated to a free ploughman’s dinner courtesy of the League of Friends.
Besides Shepherd Neame and Barclays, the quiz is also supported by Specsavers, Office Angels, Eurotunnel, Eurostar and Hornby.
Also taking a share of the charity pot will be KM Charity Team services supporting child literacy and road safety, plus one charity chosen via prize draw.
The entry price is £65 per eight-person team, but there is a £10 discount when you book using the discount code KMNEWS19.
