Primary school children across Kent and Medway have the once in a lifetime opportunity for their artwork to be showcased at the Turner Contemporary Gallery, Margate.
That’s the prize up for grabs at the Perfect Packed Lunch Awards 2015 which are open for entry until Friday, May 8.
The competition, organised by the KM Group’s charity department, requires youngsters to devise a genuine or fantasy packed lunch. To enter, they must draw or paint a picture of the meal and write about what makes it special.
“The project encourages children to express their imaginations through the combination of art and creative writing,” said Kemal Housein from Art Projects for Schools, which is a key partner of the awards.
Mr Housein added: “The result is a fun project which rewards each child with their very own published online recipe card, which they will get great pleasure in showing off to friends and family - and let’s not forget the lucky winners who will have their work displayed at the Turner!”
The awards are also supported by Telcare Ltd, Golding Vision (part of Golding Homes), Mini Babybel and Three R’s Teacher Recruitment.
Julia Williamson of the KM Charity Team said: “The winners will get a real thrill from seeing their entries exhibited in a world class art gallery. It’s a fabulous prize. But don’t delay – make sure entries are in by the deadline of Friday, May 8.”
Competition categories include Superhero, Pirate Captain, Princess, Famous Artist, Knight, Favourite Book Character, Celebrity, Healthy, Cheesy, Historical, and Fairytale.
