Time is running out to nominate in the inaugural Thanet Community Awards and sing the praises of the district’s hard-working charities, good causes, and volunteers.
The deadline to place a nomination is Tuesday, November 27.
Winners and runners-up will receive a share of £10,000 at a glittering awards dinner staged in the New Year at The Yarrow in Broadstairs.
The Grade II listed hotel at Viking Bay will provide the perfect backdrop to an evening celebrating the cream of the charity crop.
Entertainment will include a performance by the choir and musical theatre group from local school Bromstone Primary. Guests will be treated to an excerpt of the school’s upcoming production of High School Musical.
The Thanet Community Awards are organised by the KM Charity Team and run in partnership with Ramsgate-based offshore wind farm London Array, Westwood Cross shopping centre, and the Thanet Extra – and the latter three will each present a £2,000 cheque to a charity of their choice at the awards night.
A further £4,000 will be distributed among three runner-up charities and three individual volunteers.
In addition, Westwood Cross and Thanet Extra will champion their chosen causes for 12 months.
Any charity, good cause, or voluntary group based at or operating in Thanet is eligible to submit a nomination for an award.
Nominations for a single volunteer or group of volunteers in the district can be made by anyone wishing to say a big thank you to them for their dedication.
