Charity campaign launched at shopping centre

A month-long fundraising campaign for the Breast Cancer Research Appeal has been officially launched at a shopping centre.

A 'pink party' was held at Ashford Designer Outlet, with the release of 500 pink balloons.

The centre has pledged to run a series of fundraising activities for the local breast cancer charity throughout the October awareness month and is now appealing for local people to return the balloons to the outlet.

For every one returned, £1 will be donated to the charity.

Shoppers can also contribute to the appeal by buying a copy of this year’s 'In The Pink’ the official magazine of The Pink Ribbon Foundation.

The pink party was attended by many VIP guests including Ashford Mayor, Cllr Rita Hawes, BBC South East presenter Kaddy Lee Preston and representatives of the charity.
