With just a single month to go until the KM Colour Run, teams are warming up and getting ready to tackle the rainbow route.
Staff at McDonald's Sturry Road branch, Canterbury are partaking in the annual challenge event and are calling for fellow businesses to do the same.
Ann-Marie Bundock, Floor Manager at McDonald's, said: "Myself and my co-workers are extremely excited to take part in this year's Colour Run. It is a fantastic event which raises lots of money for good causes, and something which can be enjoyed by all ages groups and abilities. We will be on that starting line in June raring to go!"
She added: "We will be raising money for Ronald McDonald House Charities which helps to keep families close together at times of great need like when children are desperately poorly. Sometimes young people are placed in hospitals and care centres very far away from their loved ones which puts further strains and pressures upon parents. The scheme builds properties closer to hospitals in order to enable families to remain in tact."
Booking is now open for the charity fun run which is staged at Betteshanger Park, near Deal on Sunday, June 12. Participants can walk, run or jog the 5K route whilst being pelted with colour powder at the various colour stations throughout.
Entrance fee is charged at £15 which includes a limited edition white t-shirt (the aim of the run is to “start white, end bright”), protective sunglasses, a small pouch of coloured paint and a commemorative medal.
Runners are urged to gain sponsorship for their run and can either fundraise for their favourite charity, or one linked to the event such as the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Dominic Comins, events manager at the KM Charity Team which organises the event, said: "The KM Colour Run is one of our most popular calendar events and offers participants a fun-filled day out. Whether you are a keen runner or merely a novice jogger, come along and take part in the challenge day. And if running really isn't your thing, you can still be part of the action by throwing coloured powder paint!"
The KM Colour Run is backed by key partners including Swanstaff Recruitment, Barclays, Gardner Croft Solicitors and Bettshanger Park.
