Sign up now to take part in this year's KM Shepherd Neame Charity Walk and help the hospice movement right across Kent.

Organisers hope to top last summer's sponsored walk at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park that saw more than 3,500 people set off and raise £83,000 in a 10-mile circular walk for the 10 hospices that serve patients across the county.

This year the walk - on Sunday, May 18 - will start and finish at Charing Racecourse beside the A20 on the outskirts of the village.

An 11th hospice, at Bromley, has been added to the list of hospices being supported by walkers so organisers are making this year's event an 11-mile trek through spectacular woods and parkland, country lanes and along part of the ancient Pilgrims Way on the Downs.

Walkers will set off between 8am and 11am and the entry fee is £7 for adults and £14 for families (two adults and two children).

For many the walk has become an annual effort to support the hospice charities and they and the walk organisers are hoping to encourage many new walkers to join them for the 2008 event.

As part of the spectacular day all entrants will receive bacon rolls, coffee and tea on arrival. There will be stops en-route at two pubs and live entertainment at the end.
