Key partner Specsavers Opticians show their support for the 21st Anniversary KM Charity Walk which is now open for booking

A key partner of the KM Charity Walk is sharing their vision of fundraising for good causes.

Specsavers Opticians have announced their leading support for the annual challenge event which is celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2016, and they are on the lookout for ramblers with clear eyes.

Matt Trusty, Specsavers Kent Regional Chairman, said: “We are so thrilled to be involved with the Charity Walk again; after 21 years, the event still remains as one of the charitable sector’s leading events, raising thousands of pounds for vital causes year in, year out. Specsavers hold the community at the very heart of its business, and we believe it is extremely important to be an active member of it inside and outside our stores.”

He added: “Myself and the entire collective team across Kent and Medway are extremely excited for the Walk and hope to see many bright, happy faces along the way!”

Booking remains open for the Charity Walk which takes place on Sunday, June 26. Starting and concluding at Grade II Georgian Mansion Mote House, Maidstone, participants will venture through an assortment of picturesque Kentish scenery including leading tourism attraction Leeds Castle ; also known as ‘the loveliest castle in the world’.

Ramblers have the option of either a five or 10 mile trek, and can choose to raise funds for their favourite good causes, charities linked with the event such as Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, and Benenden Hospital, or alternatively take part simply for fun.

The walk will conclude with a celebratory garden party complete with live music and fresh barbecue food. All walkers will also receive a limited edition medal.

Sophie Wallace, events manager at the KM Charity Team which organises the event, said: “There is still time to secure your place at the 21st KM Charity Walk. It’s the perfect event for families and friends seeking some quality time together, as well as raising lots of money for good causes. We are delighted to have Specsavers on-board again and the aim is to beat our already impressive figure from last year.”

Booking is charged at £11.50 per adult and children under 16 go free.

The KM Charity Walk is supported by Specsavers, Gullands Solicitors, Benenden Hospital, and Cotswold Outdoor.
