Sunshine, smiles and splatter ruled the day as more than 300 participants of all ages raised £5,000 for charity at the KM Colour Run on Sunday.
Thirty good causes including Porchlight and Cancer Research UK benefited from the new 5k fun run organised by the KM Group’s charity department.
Running groups, charities, families and friends were pelted with coloured powder as they made their way around the course at BayPoint sports and leisure club, Sandwich.
They each wore a KM Colour Run souvenir t-shirt and sunglasses and collected a commemorative medal at the finish line.
Bassey from B2B Fitness and Wellbeing personal training got everyone moving with a fun group warm up session before the chequered flag was waved by Keith Privett of BayPoint.
Event organiser Dominic Comins from the KM Charity Team said: “There was a fantastic turn out with over 300 people who just couldn’t stop smiling. It was a perfect day for the event and for Kent charities.”
Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, thanked event hosts BayPoint for all their support.
“They have been instrumental in making this new event such a success,” he said.
Other challenge events staged annually by the KM Charity Team include the KM Charity Walk on June 28 and KM Assault Course on October 3. For details or booking, visit www.kmcharitychallenge.co.uk.
