A CONCERT in aid of the Hospice in the Weald at Pembury is being held tonight (Friday). The first of two, it features Trio Lavolta performing works by Bach, Martinu and Schumann.

The trio of Joyce Fraser (violin), Felix Buser (cello) and Sally Mays (piano) are at the King Charles the Martyr Church, London Road, Tunbridge Wells, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5.

On Sunday, the Rotary Club of Tonbridge stages a Big Band night at the Royal Victoria Hall, Southborough, 7.30pm for 8pm, again for the hospice. With Carole Wilson and Ronnie Collins on vocals, it features the Jon Hamilton Big Band playing favourites from Count Basie, Duke Ellington and others. Tickets are £6.50.
