TV audiences worldwide will see teams slugging it out in a charity pie-slinging contest.
Images from the World Custard Pie Championships, at the showground in Detling, Maidstone, on Sunday, June 15, will be beamed around the world, as TV crews from as far afield as Japan and China are already signed up to film it.
Organisers are still looking for teams of four to take part in the event, in aid of charities chosen by Rotary, Demelza House children’s hospice, the Ellenor Hospice at Home and the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, as the championships will be held during a Rotary charity fun day.
Martin Cox, chairman of the organising committee, said: “We want people from other countries, as the world custard pie championships always attract international interest.”
To enter or sponsor visit the World Custard Pie Championships' website or call 01622 688945. Entry forms should be sent, with a cheque for £40 made payable to WCPC, to WCPC, 5 Mangravet Avenue, Maidstone, Kent, ME15 9BQ.
