Estate agents are going the extra mile for charity with the KM Dragon Boat Race.
Miles and Barr estate agents have put together a dragon boat team of 12 volunteers from two of the company’s newest offices based at Dover and Faversham. The team is named ‘No Miles Barred’ and will raise funds for the Martha Trust, which supports young people and adults with profound disabilities at homes in Deal and Hastings.
Dominic Murphy, director of the Dover office, said: “We are delighted to be able to lend our support to this deserving cause and give something back to the community we work in. We work as a really close-knit team and fun events like the KM Dragon Boat Race further strengthen this bond.”

Event organiser Dominic Comins, from the KM Charity Team, said: “This is a hugely popular event and with almost all of the boats now booked up we’re expecting to raise more than £50,000 for charity.”
He added: “If you’d like to raise serious funds for any good cause of your choice, at one of the most exciting events of the summer, now’s the time to register your team.”
Each dragon boat will take part in at least three races and the fastest will compete in a battle of the dragons big finale at the end of the day. One crew member beats a drum to set the pace while the others take to the oars.
Sponsored by Specsavers, the annual event is being staged on Sunday, July 6 at Mote Park in Maidstone.
The registration fee per boat is £400 online but there's a £50 discount when booking online by using the code KMDBPA14. Click here for more information or here to book a boat.
