Ashford opticians are joining in a summer spectacle for trivia champs – the KM Big Charity Quiz – on Friday, June 15.
Specsavers has supported the quiz for nearly a decade and will take part in the Ashford heat being staged at the Ashford International Hotel from 7pm.
But the coveted first prize - £150 of DFDS Seaways vouchers for each person on the winning team, plus a place in the county final - has so far remained out of their reach.
Benita Lowe, who is responsible for corporate liaison at the County Square branch, said: "We normally come about fifth or sixth and are thrilled to be involved with the quiz again.
“It’s nice for companies to support good causes and it’s a fun, eventful evening.”
Money raised will be split between the Kentish Express readers’ charity of the year, Ashford Volunteer Centre, and literacy and road safety services for schools. Charities entering at least one team will go into a prize draw to win a share of the proceeds of up to £1,000.
Competitors will have the chance to win Eurostar tickets in a mini-competition and a myriad of raffle prizes, including a Scalextric set from Hornby and a spa day.
The KM Big Charity Quiz is supported by Office Angels, Hallett and Co Solicitors, and IMP. Barclays bank will double the money raised on the night while Shepherd Neame is donating all the drinks for the charity bar.
