Good causes could hit the publicity jackpot if they submit applications to be KM charities of the year for 2020.
Each of the editors of the KM Media Group is currently looking for a charity partner for next year, with the company’s digital and broadcast services, KMTV, kmfm and KentOnline, also on the lookout for a cause to champion between them.
And with the editors and their reporters using their pages and digital resources to highlight the work, resources and priorities of their chosen causes, charity-of-the-year status presents an excellent opportunity for voluntary groups to raise their profile in their communities.
The selected cause will also be supported by the KM Charity Team via its collaborative fundraising events, which include the KM Big Bike Ride, the KM Colour Run and abseils.
They will also be offered individual free places at all the KM Charity Team’s adrenaline fundraising events apart from the Dragon Boat Race.
And all good causes that submit applications will also be eligible for Charity Mark status, which they will then be able to display in all their communications resources.
KM Charity Team acting general manager Karen Brinkman said: “As a third-sector organisation ourselves, we know at the KM Charity Team just how vital it is for charities to achieve a high and positive profile in their communities.
“But with financial and human resources often at a premium, securing that sort of publicity can be a struggle for charities.
“So gaining KM charity of the year status, and the chance of working with their local KM team of professional journalists, would be a fantastic opportunity for any good cause.”
The deadline for submitting applications is October 27, and charity-of-the-year status runs for the calendar year – from January to December.
