There is still – just – time to book tables for the Medway heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz, but would-be contestants need to act super-fast to guarantee their participation.
The quiz takes place at the St George Hotel in Chatham on Friday (March 6), with the fun due to take part at 7pm.
It will raise money for KM Media Group charity partners the YMCA and Abigail’s Footsteps, as well as KM Charity Team services promoting child literacy and green travel.
Organised by the KM Charity Team, the Big Quiz is no ordinary wine and wisdom event, and its scale provides something of a logistical challenge.
Fortunately, the KM Charity Team is able to call on the technical expertise of long-term supporter, sound-engineering experts IMP Studio & Live.
IMP director and production technician Phil Wilson said: “Providing a PA system and sound engineer for an event is typical of the work IMP does, but the Big Quiz events are pretty unique given their scale.
“We certainly don’t do any other events like it.”
But Phil regards the quiz as more of a challenge to be embraced than feared, adding: “IMP are proud to support all the Big Quiz events across Kent, and help the KM Charity Team raise money to continue the work that it does within schools across the country.”
The quiz is also supported by Specsavers, Shepherd Neame, the Southern Coop, Office Angels, DFDS and Hornby.
Shepherd Neame and the Southern Co-op will provide the drinks and snacks for the charity bar, as well as goodies for special hampers for the winning team.
Hornby and DFDS are providing prizes for a fundraising raffle. And temps from Office Angels will be joining IMP in helping to ensure everything runs smoothly on the night.
Tables for teams of up to eight people cost £65, and can be booked at www.kmcharityteam.co.uk/challenge/bigquiz.
