The margin between the top teams could not have been tighter at south Kent's KM Big Charity Quiz on Friday night (June 21).
Heather Grigson's team PBA Stantechnicals from Ashford-based Peter Brett Associates topped the poll with a score of 56 giving them a remarkable 80 per cent of correct answers.
Just one point behind was ISG Retail who will join the winners and team Unintelligent Life in the county final.
In fourth came Medway Mail and Female who had already earned their place in the final at a previous quiz heat. Highly-scoring teams Quiz Akabusi and Atticus Finch also secured their invitations to the champion of champions event.
The Ashford teams will take on top teams from Canterbury, Medway and Maidstone heats of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
More than £4,000 was raised for a clutch of charities including children's literacy, road safety and walk to school initiatives in south Kent. A slice of the pot will go to the Stroke Association because they are the Kentish Express Charity of the Year. A share will also go to the Caldecott Foundation who won through the charity draw held on the night.
The event was supported by a small army of supporting organisations including Specsavers of Ashford, Hallett and Co, Office Angels, McDonalds, Ashford International and Independent Music Productions.
Quiz Master Simon Dolby said: "I particularly want to praise Shepherd Neame and Barclays for their backing. Sheps provided a lorry load of beverages and staff from Barclays bank in Ashford manned the charity bar and used their pound for pound scheme to boost the charity pot."
The next heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz will take place in Maidstone on Friday 8 November. To receive notification when it opens for bookings and a discount code sign up to the Inspire e-newsletter at www.KmBigQuiz.co.uk
