Charities in Kent and Medway will get a cash windfall thanks to Vattenfall backing the KM Big Bike Ride for the third year in a row.
The Kent based windfarm operator is a key partner for the event and will join participants in saddling up to raise funds for their favourite good cause.
Cyclists can use an early bird booking discount code to secure their place for Sunday, April 26. They can choose from a 100km route for keen riders or a more relaxed 50km route for leisure cyclists both taking in the beautiful East Kent coastline.
The circular route will start at the Baypoint Club which is also holding a free Green Travel Festival on the same day.
“Each year the KM Big Bike Ride gets bigger and better,” said Mel Rogers of Vattenfall. “Our Kentish Flats wind farm extension project commences a week later so it’s going to be the start of an exciting summer for Team Vattenfall.
“We are particularly delighted that new activities have been planned which will encourage the whole family to get out on their bikes. This year is going to be fun and we are really happy to be part of such a positive event both as sponsor and participator.”
Event organiser Julia Williamson of the KM Charity Team said: “Sportive riders and just-for-fun cyclists alike are welcome to join in this fantastic day out and support Kent charities.
“Sign up now and you've got lots of time to gather sponsorship for your chosen cause.”
