Maidstone Riverside Rotary club will be working with the KM Charity Team on an exciting new creative challenge next summer.

A summer scarecrow trail will provide children with the opportunity to give full rein to their imagination and artistic talents.

Children will be asked to design scarecrows that will then be used to decorate a trail in the grounds of Moat House in Maidstone on Sunday June 23.

The competition is open to primary schools in Kent, and the Rotary Club of Maidstone Riverside will be helping with the logistics of collecting and setting up the scarecrows.

Competition coordinator Sophie Wallace said: “This is such a lovely competition, and I’m sure that children will have so much fun taking part in it.

“Messy fun is so important to children’s development, allowing them to experiment and learn about the world in a safe and stress-free way and this is an excellent example.

“The KM Charity Team is so grateful to the Rotary Club of Maidstone Riverside for its support and involvement in this project.”
