Trivia fans can help improve the life chances of Medway’s teenagers and youngsters with special needs by booking for the KM Big Charity Quiz.
Medway Youth Trust whose motto is ‘prepare, improve, inspire’ will receive a share of the proceeds raised at the 10 anniversary quiz being staged on Friday, March 11. The popular annual wine and wisdom style event is being hosted by the St George Hotel, Chatham.
The Trust supports and empowers young people aged 13-19, or aged 25 with special educational needs and disabilities, in a bid to improve their future prospects.
Spokesperson for the charity Catriona Jamieson said: “We are really excited about participating in the KM Big Quiz. It’s going to be a great social event and we are absolutely delighted that Medway Youth Trust is one of the beneficiaries.
“We are really looking forward to challenging some local teams at the event.”
Each quiz-goer will receive a free alcoholic or soft drink on arrival, nibbles and snacks on the table, and have the chance to win top prizes.
One quizzer will be selected at random for ‘Win in 10’ where they must correctly answer a question in 10 seconds to win a pair of Eurostar tickets.
Teams will go up against Specsavers which will be submitting teams from its Chatham and Gillingham branches for the anniversary event.
There will be a prize packed raffle including classic toys and collectables from Hornby plus a fully stocked charity bar supplied by Shepherd Neame.
Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team, which is organising the quiz, urged KentOnline readers to gather friends and family or challenge work colleagues to take part.
“Barclays bank will match funds raised pound for pound so we need a record number of teams to join in the fun and ensure a bumper payout for charity,” he added.
Book a team of up to eight for £65 at www.kmbigquiz.co.uk and use the booking code MED16 to receive a £10 discount.
