The Kent Wildlife Trust celebrates finishing off the 1.29 tonne seed cake

A giant seed cake has been made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Kent Wildlife Trust.

The supersized snack weighed 1.29 tonnes and is likely to win a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest ever cake for birds.

The cake was made at the charity's Tyland Barn, in Sandling, on Tuesday and will be broken up and distributed to the people in Maidstone town centre - so they can share it with the town's wildlife - on Saturday, May 3.
