A chippie is celebrating its award winning first year of trading by pledging more cash for charity.

Gills Fish Bar, Watling Street, Gillingham, has netted numerous awards since it opened in May 2007.

The family-run business has been awarded the Wrights Pie Fish and Chip Shop of the Year 2008 and the Sea Fish Frying Award for 2007 and 2008.

The fish bar, the official fish and chip shop for Gillingham Football Club and Anchorians Rugby Football Club, intends to raise cash for Children with Leukaemia this year.
