Top school choirs will get the pop star treatment thanks to the KM Walk to School Song Contest.
The competition is open to primary and nursery school choirs, classes, walking buses, or groups of friends until the deadline of noon on May 21.
In June, up to six groups of finalists will get the chance to sing at a professional recording studio in Kent. The overall champions will perform to audiences at two major events staged by the KM Charity Team in 2019.
To enter, groups must create their own version of the song ‘Reach’ by S Club 7. Entries can demonstrate creativity by adapting the lyrics to reflect the walk to school message, adding harmonies, or playing percussion instruments.
The annual competition is run by the KM Charity Team in association with Independent Music Productions and supported by Three R’s Teacher Recruitment.
Simon Dolby of the KM Charity Team said: "We look forward to rewarding the best and most creative choirs with their moment in the spotlight. It’s a joy to put on this contest as the children are so excited to perform in a real recording studio.”
Last year’s winners were Walderslade Primary School choir with their rendition of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.
