Trainee stylists have been set a hair-raising challenge for charity.
Students studying hair design and holistic therapies at MidKent College in Rochester are offering hair and beauty treatments in exchange for charity donations.
They are hoping to raise more than £500 by Red Nose Day on Friday, March, 13.
The pupils will be offering customers either a cut, blow-dry and colour treatment or a facial, manicure and pedicure for just £5.
All profits will be shared equally between Comic Relief and Breast Cancer Care’s Lavender Week, which runs from March 2 to 8 and highlights the specific issues faced by young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
College director Jill Edwards said “Our hair and beauty departments have a long tradition of raising money for charity, particularly Comic Relief.
“We normally perform rather a lot of sponsored back and leg waxing in the run-up to Red Nose Day, but this year we thought we’d open the fund-raising up to all of our treatments, getting many more people involved and hopefully raising even more money than we usually do.”
If you would like to help the students meet their target, please call MidKent College’s City Way centre on 01634 830644 to book an appointment.
What are you planning to do to raise money for Comic Relief?
Schools, businesses, clubs and individuals are all expected to get involved in the Red Nose fund-raising extravaganza on March 13.
We’ll be running stories about what’s going on and may be able to pop along and take a picture of your event on the day. Alternatively, you can always send us some of your own pictures (good quality jpeg please).
