A charity is urging KentOnline readers to help boost puppy power by booking a team for the KM Big Charity Quiz.

Guide Dogs for the Blind is hoping for a much needed cash windfall from the event being staged on Friday, October 16 at the Stour Centre, Ashford.

Susie New from the Ashford branch of the charity said: “A share of the funds raised from this lovely event is going towards training more guide dog puppies and helping more blind people around the UK get out and about and be more independent in their lives.

“Come along and have some fun! It’s going to be brilliant and all for a good cause.”

The price of £65 per team of eight includes drink on arrival, ploughman’s supper and entry into a prize draw to win a P&O Ferries voucher. But a discount code is available giving a £10 reduction on the price and a bottle of wine for the team’s table.

Along with brainteasers and banter quiz-goers can expect top prizes to be won including classic collectables from Hornby and £100 in cash.

Shepherd Neame will be stocking the charity bar while Barclays staff take on barkeeper duties. Other businesses backing the event include Specsavers, HR GO and Hallett and Co.

Also receiving a share of the proceeds are Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre and road safety services for children.
