There are just hours left in which to submit nominations for the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards.
The awards have a broad range of categories, including for apprenticeship assessors, technical and vocational teachers, and higher education teachers.
The judging organisation for the apprenticeship assessor category is Kent Further Education, whose financial and capital chair, Graham Razey, said: “Kent Further Education is proud to support the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards for a second year, following a hugely successful 2018.”
But, as well as selecting some of the winners, Kent Further Education will also be hoping that staff at its own colleges across Kent and Medway will be among those picking up awards.
Mr Razey said that last year more than 80 of his colleagues from Kent Further Education colleges were nominated.
He said: “[The awards] proved a real success and a popular awards event for our staff, enabling their hard work and professional skills to be recognised.”
Organised by the KM Charity Team, the awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Ashford International Hotel in May.
The other judging organisations for the awards are Kent, Greenwich and Canterbury Christ Church universities, Ashford International Hotel, Three R’s Teacher Recruitment, Kreston Reeves, Social Enterprise Kent, Loop CR, Kent Sport and Physical Education, Salus, Diggerland, Kape HR, Medway Youth Trust, KCS, Towergate Insurance, The Education People, EduKit, Kent and Medway councils and Hornby.
Awards coordinator Karen Brinkman said: “This is your very final chance to submit nominations for the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards.
“But don’t panic – the online nomination process is quick and easy complete.
“And there are so many fantastic staff across Kent and Medway doing fantastic work in the fields of apprenticeships and further education. So, please, if you know of one of them, submit a nomination now.”
