Volunteers are desperately needed for the annual Deal Hospital Fete in the summer.

The first meeting of the organisers will be held on Tuesday, February 3,to discuss the event and potential helpers are invited.

Maureen Bane, president of the Friends of Deal Hospital, said: “The fete takes place on Saturday, August 1, between 1pm and 4pm in the hospital grounds.

“We are looking for helpers on the day and if any Mercury can give us a hand in any way please come along to the meeting.

“It will be held at the hospital at 7.30pm, but if anyone cannot attend and would like to help they can ring me on 01304 362971.”
