Forty three teams will race the dragon at the KM’s biggest charity fundraising event of the year staged this Sunday at Mote Park, Maidstone.
The annual KM Dragon Boat Race organised by the KM Charity Team is expected to raise more than £80,000 for almost 40 good causes.
The event is sold-out to competitors but spectators are welcome to come and watch the fun for free. Savour the ancient traditions of the dragon boat as teams of 11 use paddle power to complete the 250m course in the fastest time.
Back on dry land visitors can enjoy stalls, refreshments and activities for children including a tea cup ride and ‘beat the goalie’ game.
Plus rowing boats and pedal boats will be available all day for hire at Mote Park Watersports Centre.
The event is supported by Kent Reliance and Countrystyle Recycling and the first race will start at 10am.
