Actress Rosalind Porter, a former pupil of Maidstone Girls Grammar School, will run in support of the Parkinson's Disease Society. Her father Clive, of College Road, Maidstone, was diagnosed with the illness 17 years ago.Chris Smith, 21, of Oak Drive, Larkfield, will run for the children's charity Sparks, which raises money for babies and young children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses like spina bifida or cerebral palsy.Cyclist Robert Longley, 51, of Goudhurst Road, Cranbrook, who is commonly seen riding a penny farthing bicycle around the town, ran in aid of PHAB, a charity that integrates physically handicapped people into wide-ranging activities.David Wardle, 35, from Kings Hill, is running to raise money for the charity Dreams Come True, which pays for holidays for terminally ill children. To sponsor Mr Wardle on 07766 071089.Esther Brown, 29, from East Malling, will run in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. She is the daughter of Jim Brown, the vicar of East Malling, Wateringbury and Teston, and runs in support of her sister, Lisa, who is losing her hearing.Jo Baxter, 32, from Lenham, a CID administrator at the City of London Police, is running to raise money for Foal Farm, an organisation near Biggin Hill which cares for and rehomes unwanted animals.Joe Davies, the headmaster at Sutton Valence School, is running to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre, inspired by his chum from his student-days, Alastair Hignell, the former rugby international and BBC presenter, who suffers from the condition.Keen runner and footballer Nick Grindley, 28, from Snodland, will run the marathon for the first time in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity. He hopes to raise £2,000 for the charity.Laura Thornton, 30, who works as a fund-raiser in the Maidstone office of Macmillan Cancer Support, will run in support of the charity.Mohamed Hefni, a consultant gynaecologist at Benenden Hospital, will raise money for the Garwood Foundation, a charity which helps children and adults with profound disabilities.Mother-of-two Sharon Barnett, a property developer of Linton Hill, Maidstone, will run carrying a picture of her best friend's baby, who died of a rare heart condition aged seven weeks. She is raising money for the British Heart Foundation.Salesman Malcolm Wakeford, of Downs Road, Yalding, will run the marathon in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and hopes to raise £4,000 - mostly from the parents and staff at Yalding Primary School, where his two sons are pupils.

These are some of the marathon runners who will take to the streets of London tomorrow to raise thousands of pounds for their chosen charities.
