Inner Wheel Christmas cheer

Despite the cold weather a steady stream of people turned up to support a charity Christmas fair.

The Isle of Sheppey Inner Wheel laid on stalls with cakes, jewellery, Christmas cards, home-made crackers, and other festive treats at the fair in Minster Abbey Church Hall yesterday (Saturday).

There was face painting for the youngsters and flower arrangements which were raffled along with other prizes at the end of the day.

The fair raised more than £200 for the local branch of the Riding and Driving for the Disabled Association – a national charity which gives horse-riding training to people with disabilities.

Inner Wheel member Kath Armstrong said: “It was a bitterly cold day but we are so grateful that people turned up and gave their support, we are very pleased at the amount that was raised.”
