Put the kettle on – it’s time for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Schools, businesses and councils are gearing up for a number of Macmillan Cancer Support events which take place on Friday.
Both Leeds and Broomfield Primary School and staff at vending machine operator Selecta in Bellingham Way, Maidstone, are doing their bit while visitors to the Museum of Kent Life in Sandling, Maidstone, will receive free tea and coffee today between 10am and midday.
There will be coffee and cakes on offer at the Macmillan Information Centre in the Kent Oncology Centre, Maidstone Hospital, between 10am and midday.
The Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Denise Joy, will hold her event today, from 11.30am to 1.30pm at the Town Hall in Maidstone High Street. Entry is £1.
Coffee specialists Gaggia in Bank Street, Maidstone, is joining forces with the V Bar opposite to provide, coffee and music from 9am to 5pm. Gaggia customers can get a coffee and ticket to win a coffee machine in exchange for a donation.
Kent & Medway Cancer Network will be at Preston Hall, Aylesford, from 9am and at Holy Family Church, Longshaw Road, Park Wood, Maidstone, from 10am, while at St Nicholas’ Church, Linton, there will be tea, coffee and fun competitions from 10am to midday.
Highgrove garden centre, in Staplehurst Road, Marden, will also be serving coffees from 9am.
Homemade marmalade, cakes and other goodies will be on sale between 3.30pm-4.30pm at Marvillion Court, East Peckham, as part of the charity day.
For that extra twist, dress in vintage fashions and raise cash for charity by attending the coffee morning at Ultimately Yours vintage clothes store in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, between 10am and 7pm.
If you miss any of these events but still want to support a coffee morning, join Geoff and Jenny’s Open House at 5 Cedar Court, Ardenlee Drive, Maidstone, on Saturday between 11am and 8pm when not only can you get a cuppa and a cake but Christmas ideas too.
Then on Monday they’ll be serving coffees at 27 Hart Street, Maidstone, from 10am.
