A football-themed event has raised more than £500 for an Island charity.
Thomson travel agent in High Street, Sheerness, held the fund-raiser on Saturday to raise money for the Joshua Goodwin Asthma Foundation.
Staff from the shop had a tombola, guess the name of the teddy and even cycled 37 miles on an exercise bike – equivalent to walking round the Island.
Joshua died aged eight in August last year after suffering an asthma attack whilst playing football.
The foundation was set up in his memory to raise awareness of how severe the condition can be.
Assistant manager at Thomson, Annie Blackburn, said: “We raised about £520. It was a really fun day – a bit cold, but good. We were all dressed in football kits.
“Asthma does not get much publicity as it should and people need to realise it can be severe, and can unfortunately lead to death.”
