Charity really does begin at home this autumn, thanks to donations from one Kent-based estate agent.
Wards, which is part of Arun Estates, ise currently donating £100 for every property valuation it attends, with hopes to raise £1m for charity.
The group is already halfway to its £1m target, having raised just over £503k so far.
The money raised will go towards helping vulnerable children in the local community.
According to a statement from Arun Estates, a quarter of families in the South East are considered to be vulnerable and could potentially go without food and heat this winter.
By donating £100 for each valuation it attends, regardless of whether the homeowner decides to sell with Wards, the company aims to support community programmes and help those most affected by the cost-of-living crisis.
Group Managing Director Aldo Sotgiu said: “It’s a real privilege to be able to give back to our communities, particularly vulnerable children who desperately need help at critical times in their lives. We can only achieve this with the immense amount of support from our customers.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has helped raise such an amazing amount of money in such a short space of time. With your help and support it makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
Arun Estates has already raised more than £20,000 earlier this year for charity partner, the Children’s Trust.
This year, the company also donated £50,000 to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal through the Rooney Foundation, the charitable trust set up by the group’s chairman, Paul Rooney and his wife Clare.

The Wards Children's Awards also returned this year, supported by the KM Group, to recognise the efforts and achievements of courageous children, their families and the charities and individuals who support them.
This year, the ceremony was hosted by Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins.
