There is no better reason for runners, families and charities to go red in the face next summer as the KM Colour Run returns on Sunday, June 12.
Booking is now open for the most colourful fundraising event of the year which this year attracted more than 300 participants and raised £5,000 for good causes.
And charities are being urged to register as charity partners for the event as soon as possible to enable participants to fundraise for them.
Kent Women In Business (KWIB) are key partners of the family friendly 5K fun run being staged at Betteshanger Country Park near Deal. In recognition of its support KWIB has been named Corporate Ambassador of the KM Charity Team which is organising the challenge.
Hilary Steel, editor of KWIB magazine, said: “It’s a 5K run, walk, hop, jog, whatever but the thing that really excites me personally – the mischievous side of me – is being able to man one of the colour stations!
“The great thing about this event is that you can either do it just for fun or you can do it for your chosen charity.”
Suitable for all ages the event will not be timed and participants can complete the course at their own pace as they are covered in coloured powder. Donning white KM Colour Run t-shirts and sunglasses - included in the ticket price - the aim is to ‘start white, end bright’.
All runners will also receive a souvenir medal to collect at the finish line.
Businesses backing the KM Colour Run include Barclays bank which will match all funds raised pound for pound and Swanstaff Recruitment.
Run for charity or run for fun but visit www.kmcharitychallenge.co.uk and click ‘Event Booking’ by February 1, 2016 to secure a place for the ‘early bird’ discounted price of £10 per person. After that tickets will revert to standard price.
