Nominate your school for a Green School Award to thank staff and pupils for their eco efforts - and you may win a visit to KidZania London.
The 'indoor city run by kids' has donated three family tickets to encourage staff and parents to shine a spotlight on eco-friendly activities taking place in their schools.
Nominations for any green project - large or small - carried out in the school grounds or wider community will go into a prize draw to determine the ticket winners.
Three lucky nominators will each receive a ticket allowing a family of four a visit to KidZania London – the interactive city packed with more than 60 realistic role-play based activities for children.
But there are just weeks left to nominate by the December 7 deadline.
The Awards focus on the best school-led activities in the following categories: green travel to school and road safety; energy conservation; nature conservation; air pollution; recycling; and health and wellbeing.
Winning projects in previous years have involved outdoor learning spaces; litter picking; bicycle and clothes recycling; food waste reduction; allotments, composting and cooking; repurposing old items; energy and water monitoring; and walking bus services.
The Green School Awards are run by children’s educational charity the KM Charity Team in partnership with Golding Vision and supported by Kent County Council, Medway Council, LoopCR, ADM Computing, EduKit, and NCS Technology.
Event organiser Karen Brinkman, of the KM Charity Team, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to say thank you for nominating by giving away this fantastic prize.
“Whoever wins the tickets will have a great time. Children are immersed in detail-perfect surroundings where they can become fashion stylists, pilots, dancers, doctors, vets, radio DJs – you name it!
“I hope this encourages more people to place a nomination and showcase the efforts of staff and pupils in taking care of the environment.”
Award winners will be announced at a celebration event in February staged at the Ashford International Hotel.
Details of the winning initiatives will be published in a best practice document and shared with schools across the South East to inspire others to follow their lead.
