Organisers of the KM Big Charity Quiz are calling for quiz teams to make this summer’s trivia challenge a blockbuster event.
It is hoped the quiz will raise a record breaking sum for the dementia appeal of the East Kent Hospitals Charity. Funds generated by the popular wine and wisdom style event will improve the health and wellbeing of countless patients at the William Harvey Hospital and provide much needed support for their carers, families and friends.
The Ashford heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz is being staged by the KM Charity Team on Saturday, July 8 at the Ashford International Hotel. Established quiz teams, groups of friends, or businesses looking for a great team building activity are all invited to take part.
A bumper raffle will boast prizes including classic collectables from Hornby and one lucky quiz-goer will be selected to answer an on the spot question to bag a pair of Eurostar tickets.
Booking includes a bottle of wine and nibbles for the table with further refreshments available at the Spitfire charity bar supplied by Shepherd Neame. Other businesses backing the event include Office Angels, Hallett and Co, Barclays, and Specsavers.
Vicky Adley from East Kent Hospitals Charity urged individuals to gather as many teams as possible for the event to support the appeal. “We want to raise funds to improve dementia services in our hospitals. This can be anything from therapeutic software and reminiscence items on the wards to redesigning dayrooms off the wards,” she said.
Event organiser Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “Join us for a brilliant night out and support a wonderful cause that will make a real difference to people living with dementia and their loved ones.”
Top scoring teams will be invited to the county final in January to take on the cream of the quizzing crop.
