There is just 24 hours remaining for school pupils to showcase their scientific genius at the KM Bright Spark Awards.
All entries for the annual school science scheme must be received by noon on Friday, June 3.
Designed to enthuse and excite students about the wonders of science, the awards employ cross-curricular skills in mathematics, design technology, engineering and ICT and are judged in three primary categories: Innovation, Investigation and Invention.
Primary and secondary schools are eligible to take part, and there is no limit to how many entries a school may wish to submit.
All submissions will be examined by a leading judging panel and the winning schools will be invited to the annual awards event at Discovery Park, Sandwich in which they must showcase and pitch their inventions to a collection of Dragons in a Dragons Den-style format.
The overall KM Bright Spark Awards champions will be awarded a £500 cash prize.
Lisa Craig, events manager at the KM Charity Team which organises the awards, said: “As the closing date for the Bright Spark Awards nears ever-closer, there is no time to waste in getting your incredible inventions submitted. The scheme is designed to locate the scientific minds of the future and to celebrate their work, so don’t miss your chance to be considered. You could be £500 better off too which is always rather nice!”
The KM Bright Spark Awards are backed by key partners Hectic Lifestyles, Pfizer, Benenden Hospital Trust, University of Kent, Amy Johnson and Herne Bay Project, and Golding Vision (Part of Golding Homes).
