Into the unknown and into history.

That’s the prospect for scores of intrepid volunteers looking forward to the last-ever abseil down one of Ashford’s tallest buildings.

The event takes place on Saturday, July 19. Plans to convert the Charter House office block into flats means this will be the last time it can be used for a charity abseil and those taking part in the abseil aim to go out in style.

All money raised will be divided between the children’s road safety charity KM Walking Bus and the Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent.

Four ropes will be used to lower abseilers to the ground, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Ashford commercial office, Specsavers in Ashford, the County Square shopping centre and the building’s owners Dukelease Properties.
