There are just 48 hours left for primary school children to submit their entries for this year’s Perfect Packed Lunch Awards.
Organised by the KM Charity Team, the competition is designed to stimulate children’s imaginations by engaging their artistic and creative writing skills and all entries must be received by noon on Friday, May 13.
The Perfect Packed Lunch Awards requires pupils to design a genuine or fantasy packed lunch in line with one of the many categories on offer.
Children are required to produce a drawing or painting of their lunchbox supplied with a written piece explaining the ingredients and what makes it so special.
All winning entries will be put on display at Margate’s Turner Contemporary Gallery at a celebratory event on Friday, June 10.
Every entry submitted to the Perfect Packed Lunch Awards will be converted into an online recipe card visible by all.
Children can submit their entries in a variety of categories including: Famous Artist, Book Character, Knight, Superhero, Celebrity, Fairytale, Pirate Captain, Historic, Princess, Healthy, and Cheesy.
All drawings and paintings must be presented as landscape. The supporting written piece should really ‘sell’ the packed lunch, pointing out what makes their creation exciting and unique.
Lisa Craig, events manager at the KM Charity Team which organises the awards, said: “With just two days left to get involved with the Perfect Packed Lunch, now is the time to pop on those thinking caps and get creating. Some of the world’s most celebrated art was designed in a shorter time frame than this, so we are sure that every child will produce something truly spectacular!”
The awards are supported by key partners Mini Babybel, Golding Vision (Part of Golding Homes), Three R’s Teacher Recruitment and Turner Contemporary Gallery.
