There is just a single week left to secure your place at the 21st Anniversary KM Charity Walk.
Taking place on Sunday, June 26, walkers will begin either a five or 10 mile trek from Maidstone’s Grade II listed Georgian mansion Mote House.
Open to all ages – and even your trusty four-legged friends – the annual fundraiser is staged by the educational charity, the KM Charity Team, and has raised more than £800,000 since its inception.
Sophie Wallace, events manager at the charity, said: “We are looking for last-minute signups who wish to stride with pride and raise lots of money for really important good causes. The Charity Walk is one of our most leisurely events and is suitable for all, and even concludes with a garden party. If you are looking for a fulfilling day out with your nearest and dearest, book your place today!”
Both routes will pass through some gorgeous Kentish scenery including global tourist attraction Leeds Castle, so ensure you bring a camera for your travels.
All walkers will be presented with a limited edition medal upon completion, and enjoy live music and a delicious barbecue at the garden party.
Booking is charged at £11.50 per adult and children under 16 go free. Walkers are encouraged to gain sponsorship for their ramble.
Simon Dolby, chief executive at the charity, said: “After 21 years, the KM Charity Walk is still going strong. We are so proud of this event, and really want as many of you to join us in our celebration on the 26th. We looking forward to seeing rows of smiling faces at the start line.”
The challenge event is backed by organisations including Gullands Solicitors, Benenden Hospital Trust, Specsavers and Cotswold Outdoor.
