Good causes and registered charities can have their local KM editor acting as their champion for 2015 to support campaigns, appeals and to turn the spotlight of publicity on the work of their organisation.
To apply simply visit www.kmcharityteam.co.uk and click on the charity support link. In recent years the range of causes selected by editors has been diverse with small-scale nature conservation projects or less fashionable causes finding favour just as often as larger organisations supporting animals, children or people with cancer.
Simon Dolby from the KM’s charity department said: "We know from experience that even the tiniest cause has a real chance to be selected, so I would urge you to apply.
"This really is one application form where you always win, because it provides good causes with a unique opportunity to spell out the plans and vision of the organisation for 2015 - and to know that one of the most influential people in the county - your local editor - will read your submission."
The deadline to apply to be KM Charity of the Year is noon on October 21. Causes wanting help and advice on how to best phrase their application should attend the KM Charity Team Forum at the Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel on Friday, October 3 when workshop sessions on a number of topics for charities will be presented by a range of professionals.
Mr Dolby will stage a session on KM Charity of the Year and also detail the fundraising support the charity department at the KM Group can provide to good causes.
