Guests at the KM Walk to School awards night have the chance to win a deluxe health and beauty prize.
For those who enjoy life's little luxuries, this pampering experience is hard to beat. An exclusive treat, worth more than £400 has been donated by The Courtyard, Maidstone's premier health, beauty and well being centre.
Two people can enjoy a day of sheer indulgence at the Courtyard, starting with a champagne breakfast, followed by a hair consultation, cut and finish, with colour if required. This will be followed by a deluxe skincare package, including a Dermalogica Prescriptive facial, full body massage and a Jessica manicure and pedicure. Lunch will also be provided and after the top-to-toe treats, photographs will be taken of the new-look you, so that you can remember your special day.
Salon director Paul Reynolds said: "We are delighted to support the KM Walk to School charity with this special prize. Walk to school initiatives make a real difference in communities. We are big believers in sustainable transport and are currently promoting a public transport scheme for customers. Anyone who has travelled to us by park and ride and produces their ticket, will have their fare refunded from the cost of their treatment."
The sell-out awards night will be held at the Corn Exchange, Rochester, on Friday, November 28. It celebrates the achievements of parent groups and schools involved with a range of walk to school schemes. This year has seen a record 147 nominations, all projects that have been put forward for recognition for their value in increasing children's road safety skills, tackling childhood obesity and improving the environment by reducing school-run traffic.
The KM Walk to School team provides Walking Bus, Walk on Wednesday and Walking Bug schemes to 200 primary schools in Kent and Medway and took 240,000 school run car journeys off the county's streets in the last 12 months.
The charity works in partnership with KCC and is supported by Denne Construction, Ringway, Fitzpatrick, Chatham Maritime Trust, the Co-operative, Brakes group and AXA PPP Healthcare.
