PROMOTING the cool walk to school earned four children and their families swipe cards to splash out at Asda, Chatham.

A poster design contest was staged by the KM Walk to School charity and Asda to celebrate the introduction of the George clothing range to the Medway store.

Scores of children sent their illustrations in to the charity team which posted them online at www.kmwalktoschool.co.uk to enable the public to view and vote for their favourite.

Top of the poll was Maddison Fletcher, five, of High Halstow School, who received a £200 gift card, while runner up trio of Christie Inns, nine, of Featherby Junior School, Sofia Vieira, seven, and Ellesse McLean, eight, both of Balfour Junior School received £100 Asda gift cards.

Maddison, Christie and Sofia's designs will all be printed on to individual banners for their schools trumpeting their success and the walk to school message.

To view the illustrations go to the polling centre of the children's road safety website www.kmwalktoschool.co.uk
