A ROCHESTER man has won a medal running for Macmillan Cancer Support in the world’s biggest half marathon.
Mark Woodward, 37, a CCTV engineer who lives in Hoo, took part in Sunday's BUPA Great North Run running as part of the 1000-strong Team Macmillan and hopes to raise over £450 for the charity.
Mark said: “This was my 4th Great North Run and I finished in 1 hour 28 minutes and 40 seconds – my best ever time so I’m very pleased.
“The atmosphere was brilliant, especially when the red arrows passed overhead. My wife and eight-year-old daughter Mollie were cheering me on and I’m sure that made all the difference."
