Top band McFly , who played at the London Olympic handover concert in the Mall on Sunday will headline a concert in Maidstone to raise money for wounded servicemen and women.
Also planned for the event at the County Showground, Detling, next month will be military displays and a free funfair .
The event will raise money for the Help For Heroes charity that supports Britain’s wounded servicemen and women.
McFly, with seven number one singles and two number one albums to their credit, will be joined by Nik Kershaw, the Counterfeit Stones, Ultimate Earth Wind and Fire, Bob Marley tribute band Legend, Jeff Silbar and Jocelyn Brown.
The event is being supported by the Armed Forces and there will also be music from the Minden Band, a 30-piece military band, and a display from the Princess of Wales’s Royal Parachute Regiment. There will also be aircraft simulators, parachute display teams and a challenging inflatable army assault course.
The event is being organised by the Ashford-based Your Voice Roadshow, and it is hoped a substantial amount of money will be raised for Help for Heroes, which is supported by Princes William and Harry.
It will be compered by Cheryl Baker and Shaun Williamson.
The all-inclusive advance purchase price of £25 per adult and £14 per child (six to 12s) includes 20 free funfair rides including a reverse bungee power shot.
A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £70, advance bookings only.
There will be food stalls and a picnic area in the grounds. Tickets can be purchased online at www.daysforheroes.com.
