Women will be taking to the streets of Deal on Saturday night - all in a good cause.

They are taking part in the Pilgrims Hospices Midnight Walk.

Some 600 women will be walking a 10km route from the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club to Walmer Castle and back.

Between them all, they hope to raise around £50,000 for the the hospices in Margate, Canterbury and Ashford.

Among the walkers is a team of teaching assistants at Sandown Primary School, Golf Road, Deal.

One of the foursome, Barbara Thompson, said: "We have all known someone who has used the hospices. They are great places and we all want to help."

She will be joined by Tracey Downs, Theresa Shiel and Lyndsay Harris.
